Consultation – Walm Lane

Walm Lane extractBrent Council are consulting on changes around Willesden Green station. It’s partly about the cycling “Quietway” from Regents Park to Gladstone Park, which goes along Chatsworth Road across Walm Lane and along St Paul’s Avenue. This consultation’s about that Walm Lane junction and other measures along Walm Lane towards Cricklewood. It includes:

  • a zebra crossing over Station Road and another new one across Walm Lane
  • moving the Cricklewood-bound bus-stop to opposite the Queensbury
  • moving the Harlesden-bound bus-stop to near Sainsbury’s, and following it with a new loading bay
  • more planters and trees
  • less guard rails
  • more raised junctions
  • road narrowing and pavement widening
  • 20 mph speed limit.

The plan’s here and the consultation letter’s here. Brent are only consulting residents and businesses on the affected parts of Walm Lane and the other streets, so perhaps you should contact your councillor if you want to say anything for or against the plans.
