All change at Cricklewood
At the weekend the station partnership at Cricklewood station, plus friends, came together to complete the radical overhaul of the front area of the building.
In the past the raised area next to the station was overgrown, uncared for and attracted plenty of litter. However, working together with Thameslink, Network Rail and the community the area have been revitalised. The area was completely cleared, with screening installed and a mass of new flowers planted up by an army of around 30 volunteers. The team also setup the new Cricklewood collage, on the railing opposite the site.
This was a true partnership effort, with the local Safer Neighbourhood Team also attending to help remove graffiti, while the Co-op, on Cricklewood Lane, provided refreshments. In addition to funding donated by Thameslink towards the work, plants, compost and funds were also provided by the Co-op and local B&Q stores. Other members of the community also dropped off bulbs and made plant donations.
Next to be installed is a new “Cricklewood sign”, as well as the beautiful Cricklewood Station Clock, designed by local company Brookpace Lascelles, and there are even plans for window art.
