Brent Council are proposing changes to improve safety on the central part of the Broadway, from the junction with Depot Approach and Ashford Road down to Ash Grove. These include:
- A loading bay on the pavement just south of Barclays Bank
- Double yellow lines outside the Crown, by the corner with Yew Grove and on either side of the first bit of Cricklewood Lane
- Anti-skid surfaces
- Raising some manhole covers to street level
- A warning sign opposite Yew Grove that will light up if a driver goes over 30 mph.
We have the plans here and the letter describing the changes here.
They say “responses from within the consultation area only will be considered”! So if you want to raise something and you don’t actually live or have a business on just that bit of the Broadway, you’ll have to contact your Brent councillor instead. Here are the Mapesbury ones. Responses should reach the council by 16 September 2016.
