Dementia news:

All we want to do is sing, dance and play music
Don, one of our wonderful volunteers had set up a donation page to crowd fund for our dementia services. We plan to provide a music & dance project which will be open to all members of the local community whatever their musical or dance experience, both from Ashford Place clients and wider Cricklewood community. The project comprises 3 activities; community choir, music & dance for the Dementia Group. Over half our members are over 70, but we draw in people of a very wide age range, ethnicity & musicianship. One of the project’s main aims is to perform at events and locations in Cricklewood and beyond, as well as making musical and social connections between group members. The choir carries out around 15 performance, half in public and half in old people’s & dementia centres. The music director and members have a special interest in bringing music to old people, those with dementia, their family and  carers. Each term includes performances where songs are selected to fit the audience, who are encouraged to join in. We want to do more singing in the Ashford Place Dementia Group and set up & run a mixed membership dance class.
