2. Ward Crime Summary

All crime – Normal concentration along the A5.

Burglary – Usual activity (higher in winter), 4 occurrences along Olive Road in a brief period; possible activity carried out by one individual

Robberies – No longer concentrated along A5. Slight increase in activity on residential streets. Some related to bank use near WG tube.

Motor Vehicle Crime – Improvement since last time. MV crime currently not a priority of the Met. MV crime focus not in one area but generally spread across the ward. Number plate locking systems available SNT (no-one yet taken up the offer), some given out at meeting). Electronic methods (to block door closure signal) possibly on increase. Advise people to check doors are actually locked – especially in public car parks – such as at supermarkets.

3. Team Activity.

Drugs warrant on Blenheim Gardens NW2 – Currently only one statement from a resident; insufficient for further action to take place

Drug use and dealing disrupted on Dawson, Newton and Cedar Road NW2 – Significant activity outside one residence on Dawson Road (cannabis related), dealer currently unidentified. Also, cannabis smoking activity near Pine Road and near the (closed) corner shop on Temple Road.

Ongoing drugs problem on phone box located on Exeter Road & Walm Lane – Issues involving loitering, drug use and prostitution cards. Phone box is filthy and damaged, unfit for purpose. In process of finding solution with BT, pending removal. Marie passed her contact at BT.

Two arrests at Slade Court NW2 for drugs offences and knives – In addition to that, over a period of four weeks, another arrest made (flick-knife on person and cannabis distribution), another perpetrator apprehended (after discarding a large kitchen knife)

On-going Dispersal Order is in operation around Gladstone Park and surrounding roads to disrupt ASB and drug dealing

Operation Sceptre to combat knife crime –late shifts in place, so far efforts have resulted in Class A and Class B drugs as well as knives being confiscated, should disrupt further activities.

Local paedophile in prison following activity in Gladstone park – Contents also found downloaded onto computer, sentenced to 33 months in prison.

Windmill Court atmosphere improved – Residents happy following the eviction of two individuals. One evictee has attempted to access old residence and reputedly has moved in nearby.

4. Updates on previous

Gladstone Park Arsonist – Remanded in prison till 31.01.2018 due to hospital order. Currently unfit for trial.

Gladstone Park robberies – Incidents of robberies of pedestrians walking late and in unlit areas in the park. Lighting to (potentially) be improved, especially if Dollis Hill Station is to re-open. CCTV and lighting being looked at by Brent Council. Advice to stay on lit paths.

Community Contact Sessions have started. First one at Walm Lane SNT Base on Thursday 25 January 2018 at 11:00am – Ideally, the Met wants these to take place for one hour every week at publicly accessible locations. Future location of sessions TBC (possibly at the Crown Hotel). Community help to advertise welcomed.

SNT online and on social media – SNT Twitter (@MPSMapebury) is currently primary source for regular updates. Facebook – Mapesbury Police (Up and running soon). Email open to all members of the public – . However don’t use Twitter or Facebook to report crime – ring 101 or complete online form.
