Brent Connects

The next meeting of Brent Connects Kilburn will run from 7-9pm on Tuesday, 4 April 2017 at St Gabriel’s Hall, Chichele Road NW2 3AQ. The hall is a few minutes’ walk from Willesden Green tube station (Jubilee Line), close to 260, 266 and 226 bus routes and there is free parking in the surrounding streets after 6.30pm if required.

The blight of air pollution in the UK is part of current national conversation and Brent Council understands that the impact of air pollution on health and wellbeing is a real concern for many people in the borough. The council is inviting residents to have a say on its new Air Quality Action Plan, which sets out 20 key actions to address air pollution in Brent. It describes what the council can do and who the council will work with to improve local air quality.

We will also be discussing CIL. What is CIL? When developers receive planning permission for some larger, new developments, they’re required to make a payment to the council. This helps fund local infrastructure improvements. This payment is called Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). Of this, between 15-25% of the funds has to be allocated by the council as Neighbourhood CIL. Find out more about CIL process and how you can make suggestions for local projects.

A full agenda is attached. You will be able to complete a soapbox request form at the meeting should you wish to.

Please email brent.connects@brent.gov.uk if you have any questions or to let us know about topics you would like to see on the Brent Connects agenda.

I look forward to seeing you on 4 April, and thank you for your continued support.
