Brent Walking Strategy Public Consultation

Brent Council is now engaging with residents, businesses and community stakeholders on a future Walking Strategy for the borough.  We are contacting you as we believe your group or organisation may be interested in responding to this consultation.

The Walking Strategy will aim to achieve the following vision:

“To make Brent a healthy, active and safe borough where walking is a practical and pleasant option for many trips.”

To make this vision a reality, we need to know what you think about walking in Brent. We are therefore carrying out a data gathering exercise, the results of which will be used to inform the strategy.  A questionnaire has been developed to assess what the barriers are to walking and what improvements we could make to encourage more walking..

The questionnaire will be available from 24th August to 19th October 2015.  You are invited to comment by either completing an online quesionnaire at http://www.brent.gov.uk/walkingstrategy, by emailing christopher.mccanna@brent.gov.uk or writing to the Transport Planning Team at the address above. If you would like to request a paper survey please contact the Council on the number above and ask to speak to Christopher McCanna, who will arrange for one to be sent to you.

The deadline for receiving your comments is 5pm on 19th October 2015.  All comments received will be utilised to inform the development of the Walking Strategy, which will set out how we intend to get more people walking in Brent.  A draft of this strategy will be consulted on in 2016.
