Buses: 16 route to go, 189 not changing
TfL have published a report on the buses consultation this summer and announced the decision.
The bad news is that the 16 bus route is being withdrawn, along with two routes in South London.
Other routes that were at risk are being kept. The 189 isn’t being rerouted to Camden, and nearby the 31 and 98 aren’t changing either. The 6 is changing to Willesden – Victoria via Hyde Park Corner.
The 332 route isn’t changing but it’s being renumbered to 16; some of the consultation responses said the number was historic or iconic. On the other hand, the N16 route’s being kept but renumbered to N32.
TfL say there’s going to be a further response. What they’ve published so far, as of Thursday 24 November:
Consultation report (including a summary of our own consultation response saying the 16 route should be kept)
Updated Equalities Impact Assessments (including the one for the Edgware Road, about the 6, 16, 23 and 98)
Decision summary with next steps for each route, but no dates yet.
