As you you’re probably aware, we’re holding another STREET PARTY on OLIVE ROAD on Sunday 5 June and we’d love to have some live music again.
This time, instead of a large stage with a full band setup, we thought we’d keep it intimate and put out a call for competent acoustic solo artists, duos, trios and possibly the odd quartet. Because were planning on using the pavement outside a couple of houses, there won’t be a stage and that means no space for a full drum kit and backline, though the odd snare drum or cajon would be fine. We may be able to rustle up a keyboard for those who need it. A small column PA system will be used at comfortable volume.
As before, we’d love to feature some folk, pop, traditional and country music but frankly the more varied the genres the better. We would also love to have some Asian, Arabic, African and Latin music makers on board, so if you play that kind of music or know someone who does, then please let us know.
Needless to say, a certain level of musical competence would be an advantage so it doesn’t descend into an ‘X-Factor’-esque cacophony. Playing covers is perfectly fine so long as you’re relatively good at it.
