Draft Statement of Community Involvement
DRAFT STATEMENT OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Between 30 March and 4 May 2017 the Planning Policy Team will be consulting on an updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The SCI explains how we will involve local communities and other interested parties when we prepare our planning policies and determine planning applications. By engaging with the community the council benefits from detailed local knowledge and expertise, and community commitment to the future development of the borough.
The council first adopted an SCI in 2006. The latest version now takes account of neighbourhood planning; new and innovative methods of consultation; and also provides guidance to developers on how they should engage the community before submitting a planning application.
The Draft SCI can be found at www.brent.gov.uk/SCI and in hard copy at Brent public libraries.
